Aaron Vogel is a sought-after coordinator, consultant, clinician, guest conductor, and adjudicator for scholastic ensembles nationwide. As the founder of Aaron Vogel Education, LLC, he partners with music programs to cultivate excellence in performance and program design, and he is thrilled to join the SASI Leadership team, contributing to the development of student leaders and educators across the country.
Aaron taught in public schools in Arizona, Colorado, and North Carolina, most recently serving as Director of Bands at Mountain Ridge High School in Arizona. Under his leadership, the program achieved national recognition with featured performances at the 2021 Midwest Clinic; the 2023 and 2019 Music for All National Festival; the 2024 and 2020 Arizona Music Educators Conference; and conferences of the International Trumpet Guild, National Flute Association, and International Tuba and Euphonium Association. The Mountain Ridge “Pride of the West” Marching Band earned the Division 1, Class 4A/5A Arizona State Marching Band Championships in 2023, 2022, and 2019, and was named the Bands of America Arizona Class 4A Regional Champion in 2022.
Prior to relocating to Arizona in 2014, Aaron taught in Colorado as Assistant Director at Fossil Ridge High School and Loveland High School, where both programs performed at state, national, and international conferences and won their respective divisions at the State Marching Championships. Aaron’s connection to the marching arts spans more than three decades, with his ensembles earning six state championships, three state runner-up finishes, and a Bands of America Regional Championship.
He serves on the board of the Arizona Marching Band Association and co-hosts its podcast, the “Copper State Marching Podcast.” He has served on the brass staffs of Drum Corps International’s The Cadets, The Cavaliers, and the Blue Knights, where he served as Musical Director for their 2014 performance at the Taoyuan International Band Festival in Taiwan.
As a performer, Aaron has appeared in a wide range of ensembles, including as an original cast member of the Tony and Emmy Award-winning production Blast! in London’s West End, as well as with multiple professional and collegiate ensembles. His marching experience includes the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps and the “Stampede” for the NFL’s Denver Broncos.
Aaron currently serves as Grant Programs Specialist for the Osborn School District in Phoenix, Arizona, supporting schools, leaders, and educators through state and federal grant initiatives, and previously served in a similar role at the Arizona Department of Education. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Ithaca College and a Master’s degree in Music Education and Wind Conducting from the University of Colorado.
